Rate limits and quotas

Default limits on submit rate, queued tasks, timeouts and request size.

These are the defaults; the platform may adjust them:

  • Submit rate: each API key may submit up to 60 tasks per minute. Beyond that: 429 rate_limited.
  • Queued tasks: each account may have up to 50 tasks waiting. Beyond that: 429 too_many_tasks.
  • Running at once: each account runs a limited number of tasks at a time (5 by default); the rest wait in the queue without an error.
  • Timeout: a task not finished 60 minutes after submission (this can differ per model) fails with timeout and is refunded in full.
  • Request size: up to 30 MB per body, about 10 MB per base64 image.
  • Content moderation: after repeated requests are refused by moderation, an account's API access may be suspended (403 account_blocked). Contact support to restore it.
